Open spaces and islands of the Area Mar Menor are a number of protected sites located in the Mar Menor in the Murcia regionand belonging to the Natura 2000 network with a level ofprotection is Natural.2 Park spans three municipalities bordering the sea Cartagena, San Javier and Los Alcazares.
This protected area includes five volcanic islands:
